About The Lord Venkateswara Swamy Temple, Tirumala

The antique and holy temple of Sri Venkateswara is located on the seventh hill, Venkatachala (Venkata Hill) of the Tirupati Hill, and lies on the southern banks of Sri Swami Pushkarini. The Temple of Sri Venkateswara has developed unique holiness in Indian religious tradition. The Sastras, Puranas, Sthala Mahatyams and Alwar songs clearly declare that, in the Kali Yuga, one can attain mukti, only by pray to Sri Venkateswara. The benefits acquired by a trip to Venkatachala are mentioned in the epics of Rig Veda and Asthadasa Puranas where Sri Venkateswara is called as the great bestower of blessings The Temple has its heritages in Vaishnavism, a traditional group which supporters the principles of equality and love, and prohibits animal sacrifice. A journey through the Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple takes you the luxury of earliest Hindu culture and the historic past as you push your way through the sub memorials. In the middle of the giant complex is the Ananda Nilayam which accommodated the awe-inspiring idol of the Lord of the Seven Hills
